What should my baby be doing?

Sharing is caring!

Having a child is one of the most wonderful experiences a human can have, however it can also be very overwhelming.

Babies can’t tell us much.

They don’t come with instructions which leads us to wonder if we are doing the right things and constantly searching for answers.

How is a parent to know what their baby should be doing and how can they help encourage their development?

This is a sponsored post by Tryde. You can get more information about how the Tryde app works here. All reviews and opinions expressed in this post are based on my personal view.

Knowing About Child Development is Powerful

When you understand child development and know what milestones to expect you will feel empowered as a parent.

If you know what milestones will be in your baby’s future you can choose appropriate toys and activities that will promote new skills.

You are also able to spot when things are not going as they should and request help early on.

How to Keep Track of Your Baby’s Development

With so many different things going on tracking your baby’s development may not be the first thing that comes to your mind to do.

However, knowing what your child is doing can be helpful at various appointments including your well child checks with your doctor.

One way to keep track of your baby’s development is by using the Tryde app .

How Tryde Works

One way you can track development and have it sent to your doctor is by using the Tryde app.

This app was created by Jordan and her mother Cheri who has 40 years of experience working with the baby and toddler population.

She has certifications in Special education, Deaf education, and a Ph.D. in education with a specialty in infant education.

To use the app (click here to download) you simply put in your child’s age which triggers the app to ask you a series of questions about what your child is doing.

The questions are broken down into small age ranges that span a couple of months each.

It is also broken down into areas of development including:

  • Gross motor
  • Fine motor
  • Cognitive
  • Language
  • Social

After each question that app will give you toy recommendations that will help encourage the specific skill that was talked about in the question.

The toy recommendations that I saw were spot on.

These are toys that I would recommend as a developmental therapist as well.

When your child is working on a skill or not able to do it yet, the app will also give you a strategy to encourage that specific skill which is very helpful to new parents.

At the end of the questions, you will receive a summary of the questions that you have answered.

This document can easily be sent or emailed to your doctor, childcare, providers, or whomever you wish to share it with.

There is also a feature in the app where you can ask a question and it will go directly to the founders of the app.

What should my baby be doing?

Who is Tryde for?

This app is for parents with babies or toddlers from birth to 2 1/2 years old.

It can help you keep track of your child’s milestones and it will make shopping for your child easier by giving you ideas for age-appropriate toys that will help encourage development.

If you do have concerns with your child’s development you should always contact your pediatrician or early intervention to have them addressed.
